Mad Tea Party 2011 hosted by Fanciful Twist!!

Honorary Guest at Dreamaginarius Blog:

"Lucy: The red haired Doll"

Lucy woke up very excited because she was attending the Mad Tea party. She could not wait! She was going to make her delicious rose petal cupcakes.

She went to her enchanted royal rose garden to collect the petals...

She was playing and talking to her flowers when she lost her golden angel necklace! Oh no!

She could not find it anywhere, she was very sad ... so she decided to eat a 'make me small' mushroom of her secret mushroom garden so she could shrink and find it easier.
She became so small that the mushrooms seemed huge compared to her...

She found her necklace! yay!

But now, how would she go back to normal?!

It was getting late and she still had to prepare the cupcakes! Guests were about to come...

Oh poor Lucy! poor little Lucy!

But Lucy was so smart and remembered that in the garden there was a Wishing Fountain, so she ran as fast as she could to get there...

... and wished to become big again. The evening was saved and Lucy recovered her beloved necklace.

She baked the most delicious cupcakes for the occasion and served her favorite raspberry tea!

Among her important guests, it was King Frog

and...

The Mad Tea Party was a success ... that night Lucy slept tenderly at her Magic Cottage surrounded by good dream fairies...

THE END

Good Tips on working with Air Dry Clay

Like I said.. I am new to many modeling craft/art medias and I am gathering as much information as I can so I can start playing with them in the best way I can.

Air Dry Clay

I was looking information about Air Dry Clay (since I bought it already...) and wanted to find out what was the best way to work with it and modify it etc.. I came across with the blog of Dorote who is the writer behind the Workshop of a TirelessArtist and also a fantastic doll maker. So if you want to read a couple of very useful and informative tips, click the link below and surf around her blog to admire her work!

Tirelessartist_tutorials: Working with air dry clay – make it most enjoyable...: "Ok this is not quite a tutorial as here will not be photos (sorry for that, but they are just taking to much time). How ever I would like t..."

Challenged

Today I am a little frustrated.. It can sound very negative and it actually can be very negative! But, I take it as a Challenge.

Most likely I will be working in the next few days on a banner for my blog. I cannot get it to work and look how I want to! It does have to do a lot with programming which I can say I have very little knowledge of, but that will not stop me. Plus, Blogger is very limiting when it comes to edit your html and the hosting of stuff. gosh, I don't even know what I am talking about! haha

Anyway, I was talking to my husband about it and he agreed that I should take webdesign and programming classes.. I love learning new things. Early this year I created and interactive webpage, very cool one but never hosted it anywhere... why pay? So I have it sitting in my folder at my laptop. I have to say I forgot how I did it lol  Here is my webpage print screen... I have that project pending! ;)

That is my handmade yarn line... Fun & Yummy huh!

Happy Tuesday!

Lucy: "I have a bird in my head!"

And she shall be called Lucy. (Thanks Summer for naming her!)

While I was waiting for Lucy to dry, I was just playing around with my miniatures. This one I got it from a fellow teammate Rachel from JustFeltLike. It's the cutest felted birdie!

I am wasn't very convinced about the 'makeup for Lucy.. I tried to make her lips smile but did not worked very well. I guess she was not so happy about the blush! lol And the nose.. hum.. I tried to give her the best nose job, I really tried! haha Btw, excuse the nudity ;)

I had a blast mixing and matching colors.. but craft paints can be a pain because they dry so fast so I had to work like Speedy Gonzalez!

The below shot, shows one of my cheapest (but helpful and effective) brushes being soaked in conditioner. I really loved the lemony green water! I soo love colors!!

Well, that is is for now.. I have to work!

Happy Monday :)

My first doll finished!

I am so excited to share my first doll.. even after being burnt I can say it turned out kind of okay for being the first one, don't you think?

I don't have a name for her yet.. actually I have not even thought of a name yet. Could you help me name her?? That would be awesome! So you know a little about her.. she loves colors, she enjoys being knitting at her mushroom garden. She loves knitting.. seriously. She is a knitoholic!  She is a very healthy gal, takes sunbaths at the mushroom garden and eats lots of fruits. Her favorite ones are kiwi, grapefuit and apples, although she is very careful with apples because the stories she heard from her friends... She loves color blue and wears it most of the time. She dreams all the time with her Prince Charming. She prefers a human but might take the right frog ;)

With all this in mind, help me give her a name!

Happy Sunday!!

I am loving this Saturday :) Little add-on to my crafty corner

With less than 22 minutes of battery I will make this post super quick (as usual ;) Plus it is 2.48 am and I need to join my hubby on sweet dreams..

I  started today by doing a 'little makeover to my tiny crafting corner. I got 3 cute little frames for $3 dlls, not because I could not afford big ones but because I have no space! Also, you can see my non-sewn curtains and laugh with me. My sewing machine is at the Dr' right now and since I needed curtains desperately.. I went to ikea and got this cute fabric with little doodled houses and just put it together in the rod with needles! No hand-sewing for me please.. I will wait to do it correctly. You can still see at the edges the name of the designer lol! Anyway, here are the recent changes to my desk (I am proud of myself haha):

In case you cannot read, the first one says "Celebrate each day". We often forget we are healthy, we have a roof that covers our heads and food at the table. I thank for those things and many more. I just need sometimes a little reminder.. The next one "Dream Big" Yes! Dream :) If you do not have a dream then, we need to have a serious talk. Dreams are to the soul like the salt to food! Definitely Dream, dream and keep dreaming! Last one: "All things are possible". You are grateful for each day, you Dream big.. then do not doubt that all things are possible. You just have to Believe in your self! You are wonderful, you are creative, smart and just good. All things are possible :)

Have a blessed day!

Doll Update

This is my latest update on my doll.. Aside from the fact that I burnt it, all is going fairly well (& slow).  I give her some undies before showing more skin ;) I am completely experimenting here. I have to say that the craft paints I bought are not the best. I am not sure if it is because I am used to better paints for actual painting and not crafting? Oh well, I have to work with what I have now. As Summer from Dreamspirations told me.. it can be addicting!

I actually started with a flesh coat and then figured I wanted to do a crackle effect, so I painted a little brown (which color? can't remember..sorry). Of course it came out too dark when I added the first flesh coat after the glaze. So, I had to give it a second coat and this is how it turned out. I think it isn't that bad for a first doll, although is almighty heavy!

While watching one of my fav shows I was sketching some faces, which is the most intimidating part of the process for me since I have not drawn in ages (10+yrs). I will be posting a pic when she gets a face :)

I am still puzzled with the craft paint topic.. If you have any suggestion of a good paint, feel free to email me or comment!

Happy Thursday!

Pllllleasee!

My birthday came in the form of a Wacom... Me? Happy!
Although have no clue how to use it and have not even configured it to my computer hahahaha

Now, If you happen to know Santa... could you tell him to come early with a Canon? XD

Seriously, I have been wanting one for the last what.. 4-5 years? Instead of saving/buying one... I have spent my money on crap (excuse me.. but it is the truth). And now, I am regretting it. Oh well, Hakuna Matata and I started to save for one. Of course I will have to choose to use the car down payment or my camera :'( I know.. sad very sad, and me? lame very lame haha

Anyways.. don't forget about me if you see Santa ;)

Happy Tuesday gang!

My first Doll attempt

My curiosity for Doll making just started, I have all the supplies.. that does not mean I will succeed at the first attempt. Actually, I failed! I proudly say it, because one day I will be making beautiful dolls for my beautiful child (that I will have one day too...)

The picture below does not show my secret.. but I burnt the dolls skin! haha yes! Burnt it like a bad cake.. shame on me. But hey, I still managed to paint over the damage. I have to say, the process has been rather difficult but fun :)

Hopefully, the final picture of my doll looks a little nicer than what it shows here.  If you are a doll maker, could you give any tips? Big hugs for you!

Happy Saturday :)

Mary Blair at The Disney Gallery

I am a big huge fan of Mary Blair and on May 13th I realized the Disney Gallery at Main Street at the Disneyland park is having and exhibit of her work. How perfect can that be?

It is a 45th anniversary/celebration of Its a Small World

For more info you can visit the Site: HERE

I am obviously super excited for the exhibit, I mean I get to see all the wonderful paintings in all the medias she worked. Originals!! But that is not all, I will be able to buy Art.. BUY ART!! It has been so hard to find prints from her work that are priced within my range ($$ If you know what I mean) and not $20K! To be honest If I had the money to buy it, I totally would.. but that is not the case haha

Also, of what I heard non flash pictures can be taken at the Gallery. Isn't that cool?! I will be going early days of July :) I am buying the Deluxe Disney Passport for me and my hubby so we can go as many times as we like. Perhaps you should do too! Definitely this is an exhibit not to miss!

I am working on a couple of projects MB, and aside from collecting all kinds of Mary Blair illustration goodies, I am putting together a blog with her unique work. It is still in early stages.. I am working on the graphics and layouts but soon will have loads of information and treasures about her life, work and legacy and not only Disney related. So be sure to save the blog in your favorites and to come back!

Happy Tuesday!

My tiny studio area

I am very happy :) Finally I got my own work table (I always had to share with hubby).. It is the smallest of the Ikea Vika Amon. It was not the size I wanted originally but since the bigger one was out of stock and this one was at $5.99, I was sold. I got red legs, who knows why.. but I kinda like them a lot. It is a tiny area but it is mine :) Just thought to share..

Good night :) Zzzzzzzz

A little treat for me :)

Two prints for me from two of my favorite Etsy Illustration artists!

I have been wanting to buy this print from HeatherFuture so I favorited' a while ago. So, I go back to Heather's store to find out she was on a long vacation to Europe! So when she came back I got so excited! I was so thrilled that finally I was getting my 'Laura Larf knits a Scarf' Art print! But.. happened to be that I was moving apartments so I had to hold on until I was settled in my new place. I am happy to announce that such day has arrived and I am immediately placing my order :) yipeee!!!

Now, with Jenny from BeHappyNow I am a returning customer... well, from her other store (ToysDreams.. we all dream!!). I got the most beautiful pitcher and let me tell you that my brushes cannot wait for it to arrive!

Jenny's style is so beautiful! and note the gorgeous 'russian' castle detail! totally love!!

I hope you loved the illustrations as much as I do!
Don't forget to dream.. &..

Happy Friday!!!
